In an effort to support the promotion of pilot project activities under the Japan Caribbean Climate Change Partnership Project (JCCCP), the Communications Unit in the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Transformation, Forestry, Fisheries, Industry and Labour, received video editing and storage equipment, valued at approximately EC$10,000.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Transformation, Forestry, Fisheries, Industry and Labour, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations, continues the implementation of FAO funded Technical Cooperation Project - Development of National Land Banks for improved Food and Nutrition Security and Land Administration in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Restoration work has begun on the largest mangrove forest and lagoon in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The work, which is led by local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Sustainable Grenadines Inc., will create breaches in strategic areas of the abandoned marina piers. This will create water circulation in the area which has been almost stagnant for the last 20 years.
